📘 Grammar Focus of the Day: “Say” vs. “Tell”
These two verbs are often mixed up. Here’s the simple rule 👇
🔹 1. SAY
➡️ Focuses on the words, not the listener
✔️ say something
✔️ say + (that)
Examples:
• “She said she was tired.”
• “He said the meeting was cancelled.”
🔹 2. TELL
➡️ Focuses on the listener
✔️ tell someone something
Examples:
• “She told me the truth.”
• “They told us to wait.”
❌ “She told that…”
✔️ “She said that…”
