We are excited to announce the Summer School on WTO Law!
The Summer School is a great opportunity to dive into the world of international trade law, learn from great speakers, meet like-minded students, and – if you are interested – take the first step towards joining the KNU team for the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition.
At the end of the Summer School, we will traditionally hold a selection for the KNU team participating in the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition. Participation in the selection is completely optional.
Why the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition?
The John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition is one of the world's leading moot court competitions in international trade law. KNU has a strong tradition of participation, with numerous teams reaching the Global Rounds in Geneva.
And our track record speaks for itself: in 2023-2024, the KNU team became the overall winner of the competition.
Now, we are looking for the next generation of students who are ready to take on the challenge and continue this legacy.
What Will The Summer School Cover?
Throughout the School, we will explore:
• the history, structure and functioning of the WTO
• the fundamentals of WTO law
• treaty interpretation
• written and oral advocacy.
Whether you simply want to learn more about WTO law or are considering taking part in the Moot Court selection, we would be happy to have you with us!

Yelyzaveta holds Bachelor degree from the Institute of International Relations, and LLM from Brunel University London. She was part of the winning team of the KNU team 2024. Currently, she undergoes traineeship in the EUIPO.
Anna is a second-year Master's student at the Institute of International Relations. She participated in the Moot Court herself, advancing to the Global Rounds in Geneva, and coached last year's team. Outside of mooting, she works in the International Arbitration Practice at Sayenko Kharenko.
