Migration complete: rewards and tiers are now accurate
The node software migration concludes today - August 18th. Rewards and tiers on the dashboard are no longer provisional, and the scoring and reward calculations affected since February have been corrected.
One thing we found along the way
After the tier update went live, a small number of nodes were manipulating the benchmarking system to obtain scores their actual performance did not support. Those nodes lose their IAG rewards from the past year.
Those rewards are not removed from the ecosystem. They go back into the storage node reward program, extending how long it runs for everyone operating honestly.
For delegators
Your delegation is not affected by this. Delegators are not penalised for a node operator's behaviour, and nothing you earned is being taken back.
It is still worth checking the node you support. Where a node was found manipulating benchmarks, the dashboard shows it. If you would rather delegate elsewhere, the move delegation feature lets you switch to a node with a better tier at any time.
Edge cases
With a migration this size, some nodes will end up in situations these rules do not describe cleanly. If your results look wrong to you, tell us. We would rather look at your specific case than have you assume the number is final.
