Major Sudhir Kumar Walia displayed extraordinary courage during a counter-terrorism operation in Haphruda Forest, Kupwara.

Despite being grievously wounded, he continued to lead his men and direct the operation until his last breath, making the supreme sacrifice after eliminating four militants.
