Mojang and Nintendo have set October 27, 2026 for the native Minecraft release on Nintendo Switch 2. Vibrant Visuals will be the default, and the Nintendo-exclusive Super Mario Mash-Up Pack will be updated.
Existing Switch owners will have a digital upgrade path, but neither primary source states its price or process. Those undisclosed terms are the practical watchpoint for how straightforward the move to the native edition will be.
Mojang also says Vibrant Visuals will not be available in split-screen and will not work with some Marketplace Worlds and other content. Those documented limits remain part of the release boundary alongside the open upgrade terms.
