₿ Bitcoin's First Quantum-Safe Transaction Tested on Mainnet

StarkWare has successfully executed what it calls Bitcoin's first quantum-resistant transaction on mainnet — a milestone in the race to protect BTC from future quantum computing threats.

The experimental transaction used a quantum-safe spending method that works under Bitcoin's existing consensus rules, requiring no protocol fork. However, it came with significant limitations: the transaction cost up to $200 and had to be submitted directly to miners rather than through the standard mempool.

StarkWare says the test proves the concept is viable today, but warns it's not a permanent fix. A full protocol-level upgrade would still be needed to make Bitcoin genuinely quantum-safe for all users at scale.
