Perplexity has released an AI agent that runs entirely on your computer
Portable Computer runs models, tools, and the entire agent system locally. It can read files, search through documents and code, execute commands, and perform long tasks without sending data to the cloud.
Inside, Qwen 3.8 27B and a special PPLX 27B are at work. Local tasks do not consume Perplexity credits.
If the agent needs internet access or a more powerful cloud model, it first seeks permission. Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, and GitHub are supported.
For now, Portable Computer is available to Pro and Max subscribers on NVIDIA DGX Spark running Linux. Support for regular computers with NVIDIA RTX and Windows will be available later.
