Pray for the World: Catastrophic Flash Flood in Nepal
A devastating flash flood struck the Himalayan border region between Nepal and Tibet on 26 August. Current reports indicate that hundreds have died and well over 1,000 remain missing. Entire communities have been inundated, with roads, bridges and other infrastructure destroyed, making rescue operations extremely difficult. Scientists believe the disaster was triggered by a massive ice-and-rock avalanche/glacier collapse, which sent a sudden torrent of water, mud and debris down the valley. Authorities are also concerned about further flooding from water accumulating behind newly formed blockages. The disaster highlights the growing vulnerability of Himalayan communities as warming temperatures destabilise glaciers and high-mountain environments.
Pray for those who have lost family members, homes and livelihoods, and for the safe rescue of those still missing. Pray for protection and strength for rescue workers, adequate international assistance, and wisdom for Nepal and neighbouring countries as they respond both to the immediate disaster and the longer-term risks facing Himalayan communities.

Pray For Singapore: Wisdom For Its Next Chapter
Following PM Wong’s speech at the National Day Rally, pray that our national leaders would have foresight and courage amid geopolitical and technological disruption; that families and vulnerable communities would be strengthened; and that Singapore's progress would be measured not only by economic success, but by whether our people and communities are able to flourish together.

Pray for the Church: St Andrew’s Village (SAV)
Remember SAV in prayer. Pray for the three vicars: Revd Ian Chew, Revd Joseph You and Revd David Lee and their leadership/staff teams. Pray for our collective mission in the schools in SAV, and the Potong Pasir and Bidadari communities. Pray for unity and fruitful collaborations amongst the three parishes so that our collective Gospel witness may be effective and impactful.

Pray for Chapel of the Resurrection – Deeper Conviction of Jesus Christ
Let Jesus’ question to His disciples in Matthew 16 become His question to each of us today: “Who do you say that I am?”Spend some time prayerfully reflecting on this question. Ask the Lord to lead COR beyond what we merely know about Jesus into a deeper personal knowledge of Him—growing in our understanding, love and conviction of who Jesus Christ is, and what it means to confess Him as Lord in our daily lives.

Pray for the Sick:
Pray for COR members who are unwell physically, mentally or emotionally. Pray in particular for Cheong Kok Kee, Chan Chee Har, Chew Hai Joo, Khoo Poh Tay, Janet Lee, StevenLee, Edwin Low, John Suan, Gong Wooi Mau and Khoo Hwa Chiang. Ask God for healing and restoration, to bring good out of their suffering. Uphold the caregivers in prayer, to be refreshed spiritually, physically and emotionally.
