How to use AML tags
When searching for rates and exchange services on BestChange, pay attention to the color-coded AML tags. A few simple steps can help you understand how exchange services organize their anti-money laundering procedures and whether additional checks or delays may be expected.
Step 1. Find the AML tag
If you start by selecting a currency pair:
On BestChange.biz: look at the rightmost column labeled “Special signs’ in the search results.
On BestChange.com: hover over or tap the (i) icon to the left of the exchanger. The AML tag will appear in the top-right corner of the pop-up window.
If you start by selecting an exchange service:
On BestChange.biz: the AML tag is displayed to the right of the service name in the main list.
On BestChange.com: same as above; hover over or tap the (i).
In the mobile app and Telegram Mini App, AML tags are shown on the exchange service’s card, both in the list of offers and on the service’s profile.
Step 2. Check the AML tag color
🟢 Green AML tag—the exchange service has demonstrated positive AML practices.
For users, this means transparent procedures, reasonable processing times, a minimal risk of unjustified delays, a tool available on the exchange service’s website to check an address before ordering an exchange, and no confirmed cases of sending high-risk assets.
🟡 Yellow AML tag—the exchange service’s AML practices are still being assessed, with no critical issues identified so far.
Additional checks and delays may occur; the service’s website may not include an AML address check tool. But there have been no confirmed cases of high-risk assets sent to customers.
🔴 Red AML tag— the exchange service’s AML practices involve violations, risks, or shortcomings against key transparency criteria.
This may mean longer checks and delays, a lack of transparency in handling AML cases, confirmed cases of sending high-risk assets, or unresolved violations.
No tag — the exchange service does not work with cryptocurrencies.
Step 3. Use AML tags as a filter
On BestChange.biz, in the mobile app and the Telegram Mini App, you can filter offers by AML transparency level and only see exchange services with a green tag. Filters are particularly useful when exchanging large amounts or cryptocurrencies that have passed through multiple addresses.
AML tags are updated as more data becomes available. For more information on how they are assigned and interpreted, see this article in the BestChange Wiki.
