The Right Ain’t Right: Quick Comments On Auspill’s Case (Jim Saleam)
I was asked to make a comment on the latest Auspill video. I asked myself if it was typical of what we now see from the so-called ‘Right’, particularly from those younger fellows playing the ‘influencer’ role? Answer: very much so. A few real horrors stand out.
First: there is the appeal to the USA “in defence of the free world”. The USA is described as: “the superpower vanguard of Western Civilisation”. This is Liberal Party 1950s stuff which does not address the essential nature of the USA. What free world did the regime in Washington / New York ever defend? Its “civilisation” was the extension of consumer capitalism everywhere. It would invade countries for resources and impose puppet regimes. although it occupied Australia in a quieter way. So much so, that Pig Iron Bob (Menzies) considered it benign and obeying its dictates quite reasonable.
Second: “communism”. Is this serious? Auspill tells us that Australians fought with the USA against the “Communist tyranny in Korea and Vietnam”. Yes, we were there. But what did we ever get out of it? The rise of the Korean economy? Vietnamese refugees? Should Australia ever have been involved in these wars? Might we say too that giving up our soldiers’ lives was paying the price of a fake ‘protection’.
Third: Auspill says the present Labor administration is “our radical left wing government”. Left wing? The Labor Party is one face of liberal-globalist-capitalism. The Liberal Party is another face of liberal-globalist-capitalism. The Labor Party will put a gloss on itself to maintain loyalties of different social groups. The Liberal Party will wear make-up to rope in another. The colourings are derived of earlier periods in our politics, but they have no real meaning now. This is the essential Left-Right game. So what is Auspill? He is a rightist.
Fourth: of course, Auspill is making noises over the ban of the neo-nazis by the state this year and he wants the ban lifted. He says the state would “criminalize political parties by executive decree so so-called hate groups from a United Nations treaty .. drafted by the Soviet Union.”
Question: what possible interest does the Trump presidency have in that? Offering up a new generation of young patriots to “take back” their country is fine rhetoric which might one day mean in practice - having Aussie boys invade Iran. Well, that might be useful to the USA? But it’s still a bridge too far.
Fifth: Auspill wants to “to take our country back by democratic means…” and asks Trump to show an interest in protecting the democracy of its ally. Aside from the truism that Australia cannot be redeemed by democratic means, or as we are apt to say “there is no parliamentary road”, the US system has many allies that have dissolved actual nationalist groups (I don’t mean groups like Sewell’s fools). Didn’t France dissolve Young Nation, the French Nationalist Party, New Order, French Work over the decades? Didn’t Italy dissolve Political Movement For A New Order and Third Position? Didn’t Germany dissolve Socialist Germany Party and try to ban the legendary National Democratic Party? So why would the USA get involved here?
I suspect that Auspill is selling a con job. The idea is to get people into anti communism and anti leftism which serves the Liberal Party. The next idea is to get them thinking the USA is their mate. That is the old Right road.
