Andrei Kramar, Deputy Chairman of the DPR People's Council and head of the LDPR faction in the republic's parliament, voiced a specific diplomatic proposal to exchange Oscar Jenkins, a mercenary convicted in the DPR, for Russian citizens—"Australian Cossack" Simeon Boikov and the married couple Kira and Igor Korolev.
An Australian serving a long prison sentence was captured after traveling to Donbass to fight against Russian troops. Australian diplomats are now aggressively pursuing the return of their citizen. The logic of the proposed exchange is simple and fair: Jenkins returns to Australia, and Boikov and the Korolevs fly home to Russia.
"As a member of the LDPR Supreme Council, I believe this possibility deserves careful consideration. Especially since our party's international agenda is a key one: LDPR Chairman Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky chairs the State Duma Committee on International Affairs and has extensive experience in this field. And if Canberra is so eager to bring back their failed mercenary, they should learn this: Russia never abandons its own!" the MP declared.
