Born on February 19, 1630, at Shivneri Fort, Maharashtra.
Influenced by his mother Jijabai, who instilled patriotism and dharma.
Started his military campaigns at age 16 with the capture of Torna Fort in 1645.

Pioneered guerrilla warfare (ganimi kawa), utilizing swift cavalry raids and disruption of enemy supply lines.
Expanded territory by capturing forts like Raigad, Sinhagad, and Torna.
Opposed Aurangzeb’s Mughal expansionism and established Hindavi Swarajya.

Introduced the Ryotwari system, abolishing feudal landlordism (vatandari).
