₿ Trump Eyes Large Bitcoin Accumulation, Needs Congress to Fund It
President Trump stated on Aug. 20 that the US is considering accumulating significant amounts of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. His 2025 executive order already directs Treasury to explore expanding federal crypto holdings, but no existing public authority provides Treasury with a funded program for multibillion-dollar open-market purchases. Any large-scale acquisition would require Congressional approval to unlock the necessary funding.
