US army secretary resigns as Pentagon tensions reach boiling point

US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll is stepping down after serving in the position for 18 months, the White House said in a statement on 31 August - a new resignation from President Donald Trump's military establishment that coincides with growing pushback over the illegal Iran war.
