WH announces 9 new agreements with pharma manufacturers aimed at slashing prescription drug costs for Americans

In a major policy milestone for healthcare reform, President Donald Trump announced nine new agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers aimed at slashing prescription drug costs for Americans.

Under these voluntary deals, manufacturers agree to align US drug pricing with the lowest prices paid by other developed countries, a framework known as the most favored nation (MFN) price model. The latest expansion brings the total roster of pharmaceutical companies participating in MFN pricing to 26, collectively representing roughly 89% of the domestic branded drug market.

The nine newly added mid sized manufacturers include Alcon, Astellas Pharma, BeOne Medicines, BridgeBio, CSL, Kyowa Kirin, Sun Pharma, Teva Pharmaceuticals and UCB...
