🤖 OpenAI and 100+ firms warn of imminent AI-powered cyberattacks
OpenAI has published an open letter co-signed by over 100 organizations — including rivals Anthropic and Google, plus Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, IBM, and CrowdStrike — warning that "AI-enabled cyber attacks will become far more widespread and sophisticated in the coming months."
The letter targets hospitals, water treatment plants, and internet infrastructure as key risks, and calls on governments to fund cyber defense, urges cybersecurity firms to share threat intelligence, and asks AI labs to share tools with those protecting essential services.
