GPT-6 Astra is rolling out, but getting it isn't as easy as finding a button.
OpenAI began the rollout on September 3. In regular ChatGPT the model appears as GPT-6 Pro for the $100 and $200 Pro plans, Business, and Enterprise. Free and Go users are excluded for now.
Plus subscribers get Astra via ChatGPT Work or Codex, not regular Chat. The Codex CLI requires version 0.153.0 or newer.
Astra can burn through your usage allowance faster than GPT-5.6 Sol. OpenAI estimates Plus users get 5–45 local Astra messages per five-hour period, the $100 Pro plan gets 25–225, and the $200 tier gets 100–900.
The rollout is fragmented across plans and platforms, so even paying users may have to hunt for it.
