My take on the Euphoria finale, might be with spoilers.
There were spots of extremely poor and silly writing, esp with Jules and Lexi. I can imagine how Lexi became that judgemental ass after being so empathetic previously, but it's sad that it happened. Good she has a nice career though.
Fuck Jules. I lost absolutely any interest or respect for her after the painting episode. It looked as if she was purposefully setting Lexi up to fail.
Saw that some people online didn't realise that Maddie gave Rue's DEA collaboration away on purpose and thought it was bad writing, like she was suddenly written to be stupid. It's actually brilliant, she knew was she was doing and made a moral choice of saving her friend (who she also makes money with) over another less close friend (who's lost anyways bc of addiction) - I think that must've been her way of deciding. This also adds to the tragedy of Lexi, being Rue's best friend, the moral one, to be the cause of her death, by telling Maddie about DEA.
Rue's death sequence is extremely sad, with her tripping and seeing that Fez did a prison break, making her death align with Angus Cloud's death.
Funnily enough I was even a little sad about Nate, although he was utterly pathetic of course.
I think the sociopathic drug lady wouldn't kill herself. Criminals kill themselves instead of going to prison for three reasons: they lose an extremely happy life, they are ashamed of what they did, or they are scared they will be on the bottom of the social pyramid in prison. I think none of those are valid for her.
I personally loved a lot of references to the bible this season. I know that SL only uses it for the cinematic purposes and I'm pretty sure she doesn't believe in shit, but I personally thought to myself that it might be the time to actually read the Bible and I hope some other people will have that idea too :)
Cassie stopped being my favorite character this season, but I still rooted for her. I know a lot of people judge her but I literally understand most of her decisions and where she's coming from (maybe not the 50k flowers, maybe. And not deleting onlyfans at that moment).
There was quite a lot of suspense and tragedy, high stakes and masterful cinematography. The western style finale is cool. Yeah this is a completely different show, but we all were also completely different people 8 years ago when it started and I don't see it as an impossible transformation. I think there is something beautiful about a show drastically changing over the years as the world changes. It's not always supposed to be like this, but I believe this time it works great.
