"Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears" (Москва слезам не верит)
This film is practically a Russian language textbook. It tells the story of three young women who come to Moscow to build their futures. The dialogues are simple, clear, and reflect everyday life, friendship, and family values. It's no surprise that teachers often use this movie in their Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL) classes. It's a warm, human story that will help you understand the Russian soul. Fun fact: it won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film!

Every Russian knows this film by heart. It's more than just a New Year's comedy — it's a treasure trove of everyday phrases that Russians still use today. If you ever hear someone say "What a nasty thing!" (Какая гадость!) or "I don't like your imagination!" (Мне ваша фантазия не нравится!), now you'll know exactly where they come from. "Brother" (Брат)
