Day after day, pilgrims from distant stars thronged the avenues, their eyes wide with reverence as flickering candlelight danced like restless spirits. Among them were Vanick’s own parents, who had completed their long journey to settle at the heart of the Imperium's grace, beneath towering statues of holy martyrs that stood vigil around the God-Emperor Himself.
