India’s private space sector is pushing into new territory! 🚀🇮🇳
Bengaluru-based Ethereal Exploration Guild (EtherealX) is developing Pegasus, the reusable upper-stage engine intended for its Razor Crest Mk-1 launch vehicle.
The company’s Full Flow Segregated Cooling Cycle (FSCC) is designed around an unusual idea: using re-entry heat to increase propellant enthalpy and transfer that energy to oxygen, helping drive the engine’s turbine.
EtherealX has also recently teased an 80 kN dual-thrust-chamber Pegasus configuration, showing how the propulsion system is evolving.
Earlier Pegasus hardware was described by the company as a test-ready semi-cryogenic thrust chamber assembly with 40 kN thrust and a targeted 293-second sea-level specific impulse.
If successfully developed and flight-proven, technologies like this could become an important part of India’s growing private reusable-launch-vehicle ecosystem.
