🇰🇿 Kazakhstan cuts 2026 oil target after CPC attacks
Kazakhstan will reduce its 2026 oil production target from 98 million to 96 million metric tons following drone attacks on infrastructure linked to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said.
The original target was 99.55 million tons, with plans to approach 100 million. But maintenance at oil facilities and attacks affecting the CPC forced repeated downward revisions.
The CPC is a major export route for Kazakh crude, carrying oil toward global markets through the Black Sea.
The latest cut highlights how attacks on energy infrastructure can directly affect Kazakhstan’s oil output and export capacity.
