WHAT HAPPENS NEXT TO ANDREW & TRISTAN TATE?
Today was their hearing for bail, to see if they can be released from prison before their extradition hearing.
The judge did not make a decision today. She requested additional information from @ McBrideLawNYC about what will happen to the Tates if they are unable to make their court check-in in Romania.
Joe McBride said they would likely be tried in absentia and found guilty and be sentenced to life in prison.
The judge requested additional information from Joe, and she granted the prosecution until next Wednesday (9/2) to respond to Joe’s filing.
Joe believes the judge is likely to make her decision on bail by the end of next week (9/4). There probably will not be another hearing for bail, she will just make a decision when she chooses to.
Until then, the Tate brothers will remain in prison.
Whether the brothers get bail or not, the next step will be the extradition hearing.
The UK has until 9/16 to provide evidence to substantiate the extradition request (no evidence had been provided so far).
The extradition hearing has not been scheduled yet, and is likely to be ~2 weeks after that (late Sept or early Oct).
Unfortunately we did not get the outcome we wanted (bail granted) today, but at least the judge didn’t decide against bail.
She will likely decide next week.
