In a world that has a way of hardening us with time, one of the rarest things you will ever find is an adult who still carries the wonder, innocence, and openness of a child’s heart.
Not childish... childlike.
The kind of person who still notices the moon, gets excited over simple things, laughs from somewhere deep in their soul, loves without keeping score, and can still see beauty where others have stopped looking.
Life gives us plenty of reasons to build walls. Heartbreak teaches us to guard ourselves. Betrayal teaches us to question. Disappointment teaches us to expect less. And somewhere along the way, the world starts telling us that wonder is something we are supposed to outgrow.
But maybe growing older was never meant to mean growing colder.
There is something incredibly rare about a person who has walked through darkness, been hurt, disappointed, tested, and changed by life... yet somehow kept their heart soft.
Someone who still believes in kindness. Still believes in love. Still feels awe. Still hopes. Still sees a little magic in being alive.
That is not weakness.
That is strength of a different kind.
If you find someone like that, cherish them. Protect what is beautiful in them instead of trying to make them harder.
And if that spark still lives inside you, guard it fiercely.
