Eurozone consumer confidence improves in August

The consumer confidence indicator in the euro area came in at negative 15.5 points in August, improving from negative 15.9 points from the previous month, according to the European Commission's preliminary report published on Friday. The reading outperformed analysts' forecasts.

US composite PMI improves in August

The United States PMI Composite Output Index, which accounts for both services and manufacturing business activity, came in at 56 in August, climbing from 54.5 recorded in July and hitting a 52-month high, S&P Global revealed in its preliminary report on Friday.
