We're hiring a Remote Medical Virtual Assistant
You'll be the first voice many of our patients hear, helping them navigate scheduling, intake, insurance, and follow-up — in their preferred language.
This role is ideal for someone with healthcare experience who is fluent in Arabic, Spanish, or Bengali in addition to English, and who thrives working independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Answer inbound patient calls and make outbound follow-up calls in English and your second language or english
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments across multiple specialties and locations
Complete new patient intake, demographic verification, and consent collection
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and obtain prior authorizations as needed
Document all patient interactions accurately in the athenaOne EHR
Triage non-clinical patient questions and route clinical questions to the appropriate provider or staff
Send appointment reminders, post-visit instructions, and recall outreach
Support patient portal enrollment and troubleshooting
Coordinate with on-site front desk staff to ensure seamless patient flow
Maintain strict HIPAA compliance in all communications and documentation
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office, clinic, hospital, or healthcare BPO
Verbal and written fluency in one of the following: Arabic, Spanish, or Bengali (in addition to professional-level English)
Working knowledge of medical terminology, insurance basics, and HIPAA
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and reliable follow-through
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Reliable high-speed internet, quiet/private workspace, and a HIPAA-compliant setup
Available during US Eastern Time business hours (Mon–Fri)
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience with athenaOne / athenahealth EHR
Familiarity with prior authorization workflows and major commercial/Medicare payers
Experience with patient portal platforms and digital intake tools
Background as a CMA, MA, LPN, or equivalent clinical support role
