Putin Test Drives New Volga K50 Built with Chinese Technology
Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly tested the new Volga K50 crossover, built using Chinese automotive technology, during a visit to an automobile manufacturing facility in Nizhny Novgorod.
President Putin drove the car around the factory premises and praised the car’s comfort, quiet interior and ease of driving after a tour of the city.
The new Russian-branded Volga K50 model is seen as part of a broader effort by the country to revive the historic Volga car brand.
The fact that the car is built almost entirely on a Chinese automotive platform is said to reflect the growing role and influence of Chinese technology in the Russian public vehicle manufacturing industry.
