عَنْ مَعْمّرِ بْنِ خَلَّادٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا [عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ] يَقُولُ:
لَيْسَتِ الْعِبَادَةُ كَثْرَةَ الصَّلَاةِ وَالصَّوْمِ، إِنَّمَا الْعِبَادَةُ التَّفَكُّرُ فِي أَمْرِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.

Mu'ammar ibn Khallad said: "I heard Abu 'l-Hasan ar-Ridā ('a.s.) as saying:
'Worship is not by excess of prayer and fast. In fact, worship is thinking about the command of Allah, to Whom belong Might and Majesty.'"
