Open call. No experience required. We cast on ability alone.
THE PROJECT
Endless HaHu is an animated series teaching Amharic Fidel to children aged 3–6 — one letter per episode. Produced in Addis Ababa, currently in production.
THE ROLES
ተፈሪ (Teferi) — lion cub, male. Proud, confident, often wrong and cheerfully unbothered. Big warm voice, comic timing. The character children will quote.
ኩኩ (Kuku) — small bird, female. Excitable and quick. Light and bright, but always clear.
ጤና (Tena) — elephant, female. Gentle and thoughtful. A calm, deep voice.
ሚሚ (Mimi) — monkey, female. Playful and warm.
ለሚ (Lemi) — tortoise, male. Small, sweet, unhurried.
ጃፒ (Japi) — a boy visiting from abroad, male, plays 5–8. Curious, a little unsure of his Amharic.
Child actors and adults who play young voices are both welcome.
WHAT WE NEED
• Fluent, clear Amharic, neutral Addis pronunciation
• Warm, animated children's-television delivery — never shouted
• Consistency: many episodes recorded in a short period, the character sounding identical throughout
• Patience with direction — the same line, five different ways
• Full days free for recording in Addis Ababa on consecutive days, plus short pickup sessions later
• Vocal stamina to hold the character from the first hour to the last
Experience welcome, not required.
HOW TO AUDITION
Record on your phone somewhere quiet. No studio, no editing. Under 60 seconds.
1. Say these lines in your character's voice,
እንኳን ደህና መጣችሁ... ለ‑‑‑
እስቲ አብረን... ለ‑‑‑
2. Then, freely, in the same voice:
"አየሁት! ይሄ ፊደል ስሙ ማን ነው? ንገሩኝ እንጂ!"

TERMS
Paid work; rate agreed on selection before recording. Sessions at our project office, CMC Michael, Haset Building. Selected actors sign a voice recording agreement for the season. Retakes within a session are included; later pickups are arranged and paid separately.
Under 18s must apply with a parent or guardian, who must attend every session. Young actors' sessions are kept short, with breaks.
