Russia's airspace and its key airports will become dangerous for civilian flights, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated in a video address. He claims that airlines still using Russian airspace must weigh the risks.
“Safety in Russian airspace will return only when real movement toward peace begins. The sky over Russia is currently for drones, not civilian aviation, as long as the war continues. It is important that the world facilitates its end,” Zelensky stated.
As Zelensky noted, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant institutions will provide international organizations with full information regarding the risks of being in Russian airspace. He called on airlines to act preventively and take Ukraine's warnings into account for the safety of civilians.
