Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Chairs a Joint Meeting Between the Ministry of Interior and the Independent High Electoral Commission

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi chaired today, Tuesday, a joint meeting between the Ministry of Interior and the Independent High Electoral Commission, attended by the Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Director General of the Civil Status, Passports and Residence Directorate, and several officers from the Directorate, as well as the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission, his deputy, and several Board members.
The Prime Minister commended the Commission’s performance in conducting the previous parliamentary elections, which were characterized by transparency and a high level of professionalism. He called for continuing work with the same determination and for early preparations for the upcoming electoral processes.
The Prime Minister affirmed that protecting citizens’ votes means protecting their future, and that those who control their vote control their future. He stressed the importance of providing all necessary requirements to ensure that citizens can exercise their right to vote easily and transparently.
The Prime Minister directed that the Unified National Card be adopted for the upcoming elections. He also directed the Ministry of Interior to provide all required data and information to facilitate the Commission’s work and complete the requirements for its adoption. He affirmed that using the Unified National Card in the electoral process would facilitate voting procedures for citizens and enhance the accuracy of electoral data.
The meeting also addressed the mechanisms and steps necessary to complete all technical and administrative requirements for adopting the Unified National Card in the upcoming elections, as well as coordination between the Ministry of Interior and the Commission to ensure that the required preparations are completed within the specified timelines.
