Country music legend Dolly Parton died at 80 following a “brief battle with cancer,” her representatives have confirmed. The type of cancer has not been disclosed.
Parton was admitted to Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville on Friday and died there Tuesday surrounded by loved ones, according to her team.
The confirmation comes after Parton had recently spoken publicly about dealing with health issues and had canceled several appearances over the past year.
