✈️ AVIATION INCIDENT | VN34 — MUNICH
A Vietnam Airlines Boeing 787-9, registration VN-A867, operating flight VN34 from Munich to Hanoi, experienced a serious takeoff occurrence from Runway 26L.
The aircraft rotated very late and became airborne beyond the runway end, with a large cloud of dust and debris visible as it entered the grass. The tail struck the ground during the takeoff.
After climbing to FL100, the crew reported a tyre pressure indication and requested to dump fuel. About 90 minutes later, the aircraft conducted two low approaches to Runway 26R before eventually landing and becoming disabled on the runway.
Preliminary information indicates that the aircraft overran the runway end and damaged runway/approach lights. Runway 26R is currently closed.
