According to a study by Counterpoint Research, humanoid robots have begun a full-scale expansion around the world this year. Their shipments in the first half of 2026 increased by 300%, to 22,000 units, compared to the same period last year.
More than 60% of the shipments were for robots used in entertainment/performances or for research and data collection for training purposes. Approximately 19% were intended for service and guidance.
Smart manufacturing accounted for about 13%, and logistics and warehousing for about 5%.
