Life is not something you work on for a while, build something, then step back and go, “Alright, this looks good. We’re done here.” It is a constant grind until the end of the journey.
Business is the same way. You build a working SOP, TTP, workflow, whatever it may be. Even if it works right now, that does not mean it is going to last forever and you can just sit back and relax. Things change every day. You have to keep up, stay sharp, and constantly adapt to whatever the environment puts in front of you.
Every day there is going to be a new problem. Every day, one of your employees is going to come to you with an issue. A client or business partner is going to bring something new to the table. You need to have the capacity to actually be there for the people and the things that depend on you. There is no real day off from that responsibility.
So basically, life is just the nonstop development of everything. Your business, your physical and mental health, your mindset, your discipline. You have to keep developing your character as a friend, as a business owner, as a business partner, as a boyfriend or a husband. There is no end page to any of these things. You work on them 24/7, 365.
And that is what makes me so grateful that I get to work on myself and get better every single day. That is also why I am generally happy. I still get the opportunity to put in the work, while there are people out there who were better than me, greater than me, who no longer get that opportunity.
Once I got into this particular chapter of my life, I just stopped complaining about things. I learned to let things flow, deal with whatever comes, and keep my focus on myself regardless of what happens around me.
Life is such a beautiful gift, and I enjoy every single second of it.
Be grateful. And if you have the opportunity to help or assist other good people along the way, do it. Leave people better than you found them. Make a positive impact on the people you cross paths with.
There is no finish line. Keep developing, keep serving, and keep fucking push forward.
