ZEC has crossed $1,000 again — but the price may only be part of the story.
Three major developments are happening simultaneously across the Zcash ecosystem.
1️⃣ CAPITAL MARKETS
Grayscale’s Zcash ETF (ZCSH) began trading on NYSE Arca on August 25.
According to The Block, it recorded at least $34.4M in net inflows through September 4.
For the first time, traditional investors have a straightforward regulated route to ZEC exposure without directly holding the asset.
2️⃣ NETWORK SECURITY
Zcash network computing power has also surged.
Reported solrate increased from roughly 25 GSol/s to above 30 GSol/s between late August and September 4.
Higher ZEC prices attracted additional mining competition — strengthening the network at the same time.
3️⃣ A FASTER ZCASH
The proposed NU7 upgrade could reduce target block spacing from:
75 seconds → 25 seconds
That means roughly 3× faster blocks, potentially making Zcash considerably more practical for payments, wallets, exchanges and cross-chain applications.
But there is another metric worth watching.
Approximately 4.86M ZEC — around 28.8% of circulating supply — is currently estimated to be inside shielded pools.
That represents actual use of Zcash's privacy infrastructure.

Zcash may be evolving from a privacy-focused crypto asset into something much broader:
a private monetary network connected to mainstream capital markets.
That doesn't remove the risks — ETF flows can reverse, mining follows profitability and NU7 still needs successful implementation.
But the underlying Zcash story is clearly getting bigger.
Watching only the ZEC price may no longer tell the whole story.
