Well, Jen, a couple months ago I asked you on a show what you saw me doing today. I asked because today is Hubby's & My 35th anniversary and being that it lands on Labor Day this year, I didn't expect much with most places closed but was curious just the same. You saw straw. You didn't know if I was decorating for fall but definitely saw straw. I found that odd. Even if I were decorating for fall, I wouldn't be putting straw out because of my dogs and their likely attraction to mark it. However, I've always wanted to use straw for decoration for clam bake but I didn't see myself doing it so early, I was thinking late September, early October for this year's clam bake. I don't like doing it early September because of the possible heat and yellow jackets get in your face that time of year. Weeks after that podcast, because of going back & forth with family and ultimately our caterer, the date for clambake was set for 9/12, next Saturday. Do you want to guess what I was doing this weekend? You guessed it - fall decorating for next week's clambake! And today, I went to buy my mums for the tables. Lowes had a sale that ends tomorrow. I heard last night that Marc's also has them so went there when I was done. Marc's had straw! I've never seen straw bales for sale at Marc's! I've always wanted to have straw out for my decorations but never seemed to be able to get it in. So I brought home straw, got it all over my car and all over me! I was definitely "doing something with straw". I also bought a really cute scarecrow at county fair last night - it will go on the straw with other flowers I found at Marc's 🥰
