I got my first IELTS 8.0 back in 2024 ( with speaking 8.0 ). That time, my speaking examiner was Tim.
In PART 2, I was asked to describe a city that I like. I was well-prepared to talk about Paris. However, I changed my mind thinking that I don’t know enough about this city except the Eiffel tower and Louvre museum. I chose to speak about another city which I am more familiar with.
Now, I am reading Tim’s book in which he talks about boring and repetitive ideas and answers that Uzbek candidates always speak about.
I always told my IELTS students and friends to be a bit selective when describing a city, a famous person or a holiday. I am happy that I was right ( and still I am since the book confirms it ).
I would advise to read this book if you take the IELTS test.
