Field Supervisor - Jordan Valley / Jericho
1. Background
The Land Research Center (LRC), in partnership with relevant national institutions, local communities and WFP, is implementing the 19-month Climate-Resilient Agriculture & Agrifood Value Chain Development Project in Jericho Governorate and the Jordan Valley from June 2026 to December 2027. The project aims to strengthen food security, household incomes, climate resilience and market access for more than 2,000 vulnerable farming households and 12 dairy and honey cooperatives.
The project combines rehabilitation of water infrastructure with household productive assets, cooperative upgrading and value-chain and market development. The water infrastructure component includes rehabilitation of three deep wells, five water springs, 12 reservoirs and 35 km of irrigation pipelines, expected to benefit more than 2,000 households and over 500 hectares.
2. Position
Position: Field Supervisor – Jordan Valley / Jericho
Duty station: Jordan Valley, with regular travel to project sites and target communities
Contract: Full-time field-based assignment, subject to project requirements
3. Purpose of the Position
The Field Supervisor will provide day-to-day technical and operational supervision of field implementation, ensuring that infrastructure, agricultural productivity and related field interventions are delivered according to approved designs, specifications, schedules, quality standards and project requirements. The position will also support coordination with beneficiaries, contractors, local structures, technical teams and relevant partners, and ensure accurate field documentation and reporting.
4. Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily implementation of project activities at targeted sites in the Jordan Valley and Jericho.
Monitor rehabilitation of deep wells, water springs, reservoirs and irrigation pipelines, ensuring compliance with approved technical specifications, drawings and bills of quantities.
Conduct field measurements, site inspections and verification of completed works, quantities and materials.
Monitor contractors, workers, suppliers and service providers and report delays, quality issues or implementation constraints to project management.
Support implementation and field verification of household agricultural productivity packages and other productive asset interventions, in coordination with the project technical team.
Support site-level verification and documentation of solar-powered livestock systems, automatic feeding/watering equipment and greenhouses, as applicable to assigned locations.
Coordinate directly with farmers, landowners, Water User Associations, local communities and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate implementation and resolve field-level issues.
Support beneficiary/site verification and maintain accurate records of locations, coordinates, quantities and completed activities.
Document implementation progress through photographs, GPS coordinates and required project forms and databases.
Prepare regular field reports covering progress, completed works, quality observations, constraints, risks and recommendations.
Participate in preliminary and final inspection and handover of completed infrastructure and verify that technical observations are addressed.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety, environmental and social safeguards, PSEA and other applicable project requirements.
Coordinate closely with the Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, MEAL and other technical/administrative staff.
Coordinate field interventions with other project partners and stakeholders, as instructed, to avoid duplication and ensure complementarity.
Undertake other field-related duties assigned by the Project Management Team.

5. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Water Engineering, Water and Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
