there is a certain ease to having you around. conversations that wander nowhere, silences that don't need fixing, the occasional nonsense that somehow makes the night feel less endless. you never ask me to be anything other than what i am and i think that is rarer than you realize. for a creature who has spent so long watching things disappear, your presence is a peculiar comfort. i am glad our paths crossed and if i keep a place for you among the few i would rather not lose, consider it a compliment of the highest order. some things are brought back to life simply because someone stays. from one fang to another, with fondness.
