The F-111 Aardvark; a lethal tactical bomber introduced in 1967 that pioneered several technologies for the future of aircraft development. The F-111 featured innovations such as: variable swept wings, an entire cockpit ejecting system (which the pilots could use as a shelter or raft when it landed), and Terrain Following Radar (TFR) systems. Allowing the plane to fly as low as 200 feet above the ground in absolute darkness. Although lethal, the development of the F-14 Tomcat in the early 70s quickly made the F-111's roll replaced by 1996. 🇺🇸
