Oracle is dumping the price floor on Exadata. 11k to 380 bucks. Sounds like they are bleeding out, trying to buy back market share from the AWS incumbents. Decoupling storage is just another way to sell us air. And my chair squeaks every time I move. They want the mid-market trapped in the ecosystem before the next big crash. It is a land grab, pure and simple, forcing everyone onto their rails. What happens when the compute costs spike? You get wrecked on the back end, trust me. The architecture is a cage.
