Big desks eating smaller desks. BitGo grabbed NYDIG and it looks like a desperate reach for volume in a market bleeding out. They claim it is an end-to-end ecosystem but it is really just an attempt to monopolize the pipe. They are betting on a rebound that might not happen while the SEC watches from the corner. Nobody knows what they are doing. This is just a race to see who can build the most complex cage before the next crash. What happens if the custody side catches a contagion from the trading side? They are fusing the two, which sounds like a recipe for a massive, unhedged disaster. I need more caffeine.
