Church can be a lonely place for single people.

While the needs of families can sometimes feel more visible, the needs of single people can be quieter and therefore easier to overlook. Some are navigating life and building their support networks on their own, hoping that the Church can be a place where they are known, welcomed and accompanied. Yet, at times, they can feel invisible in the very place where they long to belong.

But perhaps we need to remember this: single people and married people need each other. Our vocations were never meant to become closed circles. When we make room for one another, we are reminded that the Church is not made up of couples, families and single people separately, but one body, called to love and care for one another. Each vocation carries its own unique gifts, and we have something beautiful to offer one another in every season of life.
