Building Professional Connections in Turkmenistan: C5+O.N.E. Participants Master the Networking Pitch
More than 60 Cohort 6 participants took part in intensive speaking sessions on professional introductions and networking at the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in Ashgabat.
Led by Karissa Huntington, Director for Field Programs at the American Councils for International Education, the sessions focused on "Networking Pitch: Mastering Professional Introductions and Networking." Participants learned how to introduce themselves confidently, communicate their professional value, and engage in meaningful conversations.
Working directly with a native English speaker, participants strengthened their listening and speaking skills through interactive activities and extensive practice. They developed effective networking pitches, learned strategies for making a strong first impression, and gained confidence in presenting themselves in academic and professional settings.

Driving Innovation in Uzbekistan: C5+O.N.E. Participants Explore Modern Automotive Manufacturing

Learning goes beyond the classroom in the C5+O.N.E. Program. On August 14, 2026, Cohort 6 participants from Tashkent visited UzAuto Motors Powertrain.

During the visit, participants toured the engine production facilities and observed how engines for Chevrolet vehicles are manufactured using advanced technologies, robotics, and automated systems. They also learned about the company’s production processes, international manufacturing standards, quality control systems, occupational safety practices, and supply chain management.

The visit provided participants with a closer look at one of Uzbekistan’s leading industries and demonstrated how innovation, technology, and high production standards contribute to economic growth.

Through field visits like this, the C5+O.N.E. Program continues to connect English learning with real-world professional experiences, helping participants develop industry knowledge.

Discovering Uzbekistan’s Textile Industry: C5+O.N.E. Participants Explore Samo Textile

In August, Cohort 6 participants visited Samo Textile in Andijan, gaining firsthand insight into one of Uzbekistan’s fastest-growing industries.

During the visit, participants learned how the company evolved from a small enterprise into a leading textile manufacturer. They followed the production journey from cotton yarn to finished products, discovering how innovation, quality, and efficient manufacturing contribute to the success of Uzbekistan’s textile sector and its growing role in the national economy.
By connecting participants with successful businesses and industry leaders, the C5+O.N.E. Program continues to bridge classroom learning with real-world experience, helping participants strengthen their professional English while exploring the industries driving economic growth.

🌍 C5+O.N.E. Educator Shares Best Practices from Fulbright TEA Exchange
The C5+O.N.E. Program proudly celebrates Mehriban Jumanazarova, a classroom teacher from Turkmenistan, who recently completed the prestigious Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program in the United States.
Mehriban credits C5+O.N.E. with helping prepare her for Fulbright by strengthening her student-centered teaching approach and professional confidence.
After returning home, she began applying innovative teaching methods, interactive learning strategies, and digital tools in her classroom while sharing her experience with fellow educators.
