L3s are just another way to repackage the same old garbage under a new label. Arbitrum Orbit and the others are peddling specialized chains like they are revolutionary, but it is just more tech debt piling up. If these things actually worked, we would be using them, not debating the mechanics while our bags bleed out. My barista is judging my caffeine intake. And honestly, it is all just a shell game to keep the VCs happy while they wait for retail to catch the falling knife. The math on throughput gains is pure fiction when liquidity is this fragmented.
