Prodrome: Generalised tender LN

4️⃣ Fourth disease: SSSS
Pathogen: S. aureus “Exfoliative toxin”
Prodrome: Fever, Skin tenderness
THEN Erythematous macules & Perioral and Periocular crusting
THEN Widespread desquamation with moist red skin & Crusting
Spares Mucosal membranes
Dx: Clinical
Tx: Supportive & Anti-Staph
Avoid NSAIDs & Steroids
5️⃣ Fifth disease: Parvovirus B19 “Erythema Infectiosum”
Pathogen: Parvovirus B19
Slapped cheek
Fever AND rash on face
Dx: Clinical
Tx: Supportive
Complications: Aplastic crisis
Hydrops fetalis “isolated mom”
6️⃣ Sixth disease: Roseola infantum
Pathogen: HHV 6
Prodrome: Very High-Spiking Fever (>104 F)
Fever THEN Rash “Trunk then head & extremities”
Dx: Clinical
Tx: Supportive
Complications: Febrile seizure

Baby 👉🏻 Chickenpox
Adult 👉🏻 Shingles
