Frank Lampard: "I always thought I'd finish my career at Chelsea. When it was clear that wasn't to be and the #ManCity option came up, I think I was turning 35/36, the idea to move to the Champions was one I was nervous of because of my Chelsea history. But also it was quite exciting with, I suppose my own ego felt good that the Champions wanted me, even at that age!
"I didn't realise how much I'd enjoy London to Manchester - it isn't that long, two hours on the train, I did quite a lot - but it really opened my eyes to a new club, sitting in a new dressing room, the way another major club did it. So I had a great time there!
"I had a really good bond with the fans! They probably thought, 'Who's this?! Chelsea, been there 13 years, what's he going give?!' I tried to give everything, made a lot of friends that I still have that I'll be seeing hopefully tomorrow. Looking back now, it was an experience I'm really pleased I took on for a year!"
