🇺🇸 IS THE U.S. PREPARING TO BUY MORE CRYPTO?
Donald Trump’s latest remarks at the White House Crypto Summit have put a major question back in front of the market:
What cryptocurrencies could the U.S. potentially add to its reserves? 👀
Trump said the U.S. is considering purchasing a “substantial amount” of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, while the final decision would be handled by his economic team and relevant officials.
🥇 Bitcoin (BTC)
The most likely candidate.
The U.S. already holds a significant amount of Bitcoin and established a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve in 2025.
If Washington moves toward direct purchases, BTC would likely be the first and strongest candidate.
🥈 Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum could be the next major candidate due to its market size, liquidity and role in the crypto ecosystem.
ETH was also included alongside BTC in the earlier framework surrounding the U.S. strategic crypto reserves.
🥉 Solana / XRP / Cardano
These assets have previously been mentioned in discussions around a broader U.S. crypto reserve.
However, there is currently no official confirmation that the U.S. plans to directly purchase any of them.
⚡ Hyperliquid (HYPE)
A different story.
Trump’s comments around Hyperliquid focused mainly on creating a regulatory path for Hyperliquid to operate in the U.S.
That does not mean the U.S. government plans to buy HYPE.
🎯 THE BIGGER PICTURE
If the U.S. actually enters an accumulation phase, the market could potentially see:
BTC 🥇 → ETH 🥈 → SOL / XRP / ADA
But for now, these remain potential scenarios, not confirmed purchases.
The real catalyst would be an official announcement revealing which assets, how much, and when.
🇺🇸 If the U.S. starts actively accumulating crypto, the impact could extend far beyond Bitcoin — potentially becoming one of the biggest institutional catalysts for the crypto market.
