🚨 Revolut Customer Data Exposed in Fake Government Email Scam
Revolut has confirmed a data breach where sensitive customer information, including passports, verification selfies, and full transaction histories, was leaked to a fraudster. The incident occurred after the company received a fraudulent request that appeared to be from a legitimate government agency.
The attacker utilized a government agency email domain that successfully passed Revolut’s internal authentication checks. The company only realized the request was non-authentic after the data had been shared. Impacted individuals were notified on Friday.
Crypto investigator ZachXBT reported that the breach appears limited in size and specifically targeted at high-net-worth users. Revolut stated that its core systems and customer funds remain unaffected and secure.
